Our social commitment

Since its creation, Base Camp Trek has been taking very seriously the various treats menacing the Himalayan Environment. We have been making sure that local populations also benefit from the economic resources generated from tourism. With this regards, Base Camp Trek has been involved with several social projects through different organizations.


Garuda Base Camp Trek

Garuda Nepal :

GarudaNepal, is Base Camp Trek NGO. It has been, through the years, supporting different project in Nepal: soccer for street children, workshops and training for women, children home for children with disabilities, educational support… After the 2015 Earthquake, and following a spontaneous generosity momentum; Garuda conducted extensive emergency relief operations : food, seeds and emergency shelters distribution in different areas affected by the seism. Nowadays, Garuda Nepal has been focusing on the reconstruction of three schools and of an health post in Kavre district.

Base Camp Trek Zone Sans Plastique

Plastic Free Zone :

Born from a local initiative resulting in the ban of plastic bags and plastic bottles from Chhomrong to the Annapurna Base Camp sanctuary; Base Camp wanted to replicate this project in the Western Region. As a result, the Myagdi region recently banned plastic elements which have badly been deteriorating the Himalayas.

Act for Responsible Tourism

Base Camp Trek Agency is a member of the Act for Responsible Tourism Association. It focuses on encouraging the development of a sustainable tourism in the hosting countries. The Organization has been working toward a fair and responsible distribution of economical and other resources generated by Tourism related activities among all actors involved in tourism activities. The organization has also been working on providing transparent information regarding the economical resources distribution.

Base Camp Trek Reforestations Annapurna

Reforestation in Annapurnas

Base Camp has been supporting a re-forestation project at the feet of the Annapurna. Villages and Municipalities developed nurseries and allocated lands to replant trees while protecting them by fences. Base Camp committed on planting one tree for each of its customer.
